This weekend marked the start of a partnership between Meissner Bolte UK and Saltaire Cricket Club.
Saltaire Cricket Club, based in the picturesque Roberts Park, West Yorkshire since 1869, is now sponsored by Meissner Bolte UK. The partnership aims to support the club's development and enhance local engagement within the sport. For Meissner Bolte UK, this sponsorship is more than just a financial commitment; it’s a chance to foster community spirit and promote cricket at the grassroots level for kids and adults of all abilities. Running a cricket club is a time consuming and financially demanding task, and Meissner Bolte UK is very proud of the role we play in helping this historic club to further strengthen its roots in the local community.
The First XI already have links with Meissner Bolte UK as Adbi-Hasan Ahmed plays on a weekly basis. Adbi is a patent attorney trainee in our Yorkshire office in Hebden Bridge – as well as being a menacing pace bowler for Saltaire. The first XI compete in the premier division of the competitive Airedale and Wharfedale Senior Cricket League. The league features 36 clubs spread over a wide geographical area across North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire from Harrogate in the North to Leeds in the East. The league is firmly rooted in the West Riding of Yorkshire with Saltaire nesting nicely in the middle.
One of the key values that Meissner Bolte UK shares with Saltaire CC is their competitiveness which was on show in abundance this weekend. Being a model village team, Saltaire certainly packs a punch against larger multi-sport clubs. We at Meissner Bolte UK resonate with this as we deal with complex patent, trade mark and design matters. Our expertise in such areas is commonly seen in firms of a much larger size.
This weekend saw Saltaire victorious against Alwoodley Cricket Club from north Leeds. This win cementing Saltaire’s progression into the next round of the Waddilove cup that features clubs from all across Bradford and Leeds. Unfortunately, in the league there was defeat at the hands of Harrogate side Collingham and Linton. Adbi played in both matches and contributed with two crucial wickets in the cup game.
It is evident that the partnership between Meissner Bolte UK and Saltaire Cricket Club is off to a promising start. With continued support, Saltaire Cricket Club is poised to achieve new heights, fostering a stronger connection with the community and inspiring the next generation of cricketers.
